muscovy making weird noise

My muscovy hen is making these weird noises while sitting on her nest. She sounds as if she has a bad cough. I reached my hand in her duck house and she started making that noise again but this time it was louder. And she turned her face as far away from me as possible. And she'll get out of her duck house and fluff up like a big puff ball and run away from me. (She lets me hold her all the time) but this concerns me. While she's running she does like this weird call (like a danger call)

Sounds like she's guarding her nest! They do hiss/huff like males when annoyed.. and they have this squat, wings out stance they do when broody.

That's exactly what she's doing! Squating, and wings out.

I TOTALLY agree with Going Quackers. You have a girl guarding her nest.

And when she's off, she's making sure no one messes with her. Mine did/do the same thing when they're brooding. Normal scovey behavior. Hopefully she'll stay like this when they hatch!

Well I broke the nest up and she isn't doing the squatting or wings thing anymore but she's still running from me. I think I'm going to have to re tame her
