Muscovy owners!

I would think it is too cold for her to be out there since she hasn't acclimated yet and is not fully feathered. Also, muscovy have a different language than mallard derived ducks. It might be that she cannot communicate with them so she doesn't interact.
I am thinking girl due to her head, but not totally sure.
Do you have room for another muscovy so that she would have a duck to bond with?

Haha! Yes. I know about the language barrier but I was hoping they would perhaps accept her. It is like she speaks french and they speak english. They don't understand each other.
I took her in at 5 days old after a lady left a batch of ducklings out with their mother in the snow. All the ducklings died but her. Very sad. I was not planning to get any other ducks but I do have room. Or could make them their own shed.
Even when it was warmer out in October (we had 2 weeks of +20) she would just leave me in the yard and walk back to the house. Stand at the door and do her mama cry until I came and opened the door for her. I think she may think she is an inside dog.:lau Or she is a princess. Because she just walks in and sits down on the rug in front of the couch.

That is very sweet. She is bonded to you. :)

Thank you! She is quite the character. Yes, that is why I have only been taking her to visit the other ducks. She is very used to us. And it is really too cold for her even though it is a heated shed. I am also very worried they would bully her. Should I just keep doing supervised visits? And try to find her a friend?

I would continue with supervised visits until she is older and is at a mature weight fully feathered. Muscovy take longer to reach this stage. If the shed is heated she could go in with the others once she is old enough. Do they just live in the shed during the winter? If she is locked in at least she will realize it is home. Getting her a friend is up to you. I would if it were me, but maybe you want to wait until it is warmer out and find an adult muscovy?

Thank you for the super advice! It is a heated shed with an attached fenced yard. With a fenced roof on the yard. It is their winter house. Our acreage is fenced fully and I also have a fenced pond and have a Bernese who watches over everyone. So they are pretty much free in the nice months. I can ask on one of the fb pages about potential friends for her. I am unsure what folks may have available round here at this time of the year. I will take a look! Thank you again!

If Muscovy are raised with as young other kinds of birds they will develop an ability to communicate... i have done it here, somewhat by accident but anyways...

If they aren't they may or may not tolerate one another. I have some Muscovy, buff duck x's here don't ask lol and they are sorta unto themselves neither mixing much with anyone past the siblings... their mother's were pure buff ducks and the fathers Muscovies(pure)

I did have one Pekin raised by a Muscovy female.. the egg got in her next by accident, the pekin could communicate with it's "mother" and oddly enough it's Muscovy brother(pure) she actually later on (the Pekin) bonded with a Muscovy drake she had ZERO interest in the Pekin flock which somebody in there was her actual mum and dad.

That is so interesting!! I have really been enjoying having a muscovy. This is my first experience with one. All my other experiences have been with water loving ducks. Welshes, Rouens, Cayuga and Black Swedish.
So far I love the experience! Penelope is full of character. Maybe I lucked out but she is wonderful!!!

Muscovy's are such characters. I have 4 females and they each one have different personalities my drake being the most friendly since I had to raise him. [Mama rejected him.] They are such fun and so laid back. I have Runners and Buffs also but the Muscovy's are so chilled out.
