Muscovy owners!

Hi All! A quick update. Penelope started growing actual wing feathers at 6.5wks old. She will be 8wks old Friday November 9th.

The wing photo is her at 7wks. So a girl I think?

The photo of her in the tutu I made is from Halloween and just for cute factor!!! Hahahaha!!!! :gig:love

LOL so cute! is that a long haired Chihuahua in the tent? The head looks fairly feminine but i'd need a clearer shot, females def feather out faster... i always recall the little girls flapping about while the poor drakes had bladish wings lol.

What do you all think? Girl? Three weeks old yesterday and just had some tail feathers erupt today! I noticed the pins a few days ago. Beautiful dark chocolate coloured feathers.
Pics are from her first bath. She was too scared last week. My fav is her obviously looking so pleased with herself in the bowl.

So cute! hmm... it's been awhile since i have had some littles at this moment i am not seeing any wide chest and expansive leg placement, typically drakes get more clunky looking vs the more refined and almost feminine look of the ducklets.

Can't recall if i have pics on here anymore...

LOL thought so i owned one they aren't that common. Um, head looks pretty refined. Again females have a look... drakes are clunky appearance wise.. i maybe can find an old pic of some...

This was the best out of the batch I just took. She will be 8wks tomorrow.
I find she walks differently on hardwood than carpet or in the snow. Wider on slippery floors which makes sense to me. Thoughts? Second picture is of her left wing. Not fully stretched mind you but I only stretched it as far as she was comfortable.

Also she is still inside my house. :idunno I have tried introducing her to my 3 other ducks who are in their winter shed and pen now. Since we went down to -20 they had to come off the pond.. it being frozen and all. Penelope (muscovy) is a land/tree duck, I have found she is not interested in the same things they are. Penelope likes bugs and plants and not swimming. She also likes sitting inside with us and playing with cat and dog toys. Should I still try to integrate her? My Rouen Ruby hissed at her. My two Welshes just side eyed her and went inside the shed.. ..:hmm
