Muscovy Size Question

Those look like females, the whole shape, the whole "look" i doubt i can find my old pics comparing and i lost all my females years ago .. only own drakes now.

I thought they were females this whole time except they don't make the girl sounds that sound like trilling or cooing. One makes kind of a "ch ch ch" sounds really fast and the others sound is lower like breathing out hard. Did your females make their girl sounds later or are these sounding like early boy sounds?

Definitely males. The feet alone will give it away. Both the size and the stance (females feet are turned slightly inward and often step on their feet). The body length, the overall look...

Males will go from baby chirps to a "hoarse" sounding whisper (like they're still trying to "chirp") to hissing. Females would be trilling and cooing by that age (and well before).

I think you are right. I'm picking up some ducklings tomorrow to get them some girls. Hopefully I don't grab a bunch more boys! I grabbed 4 last time, all draklets. Two were given to a friend so I need some lady birds. I might need to still re home one. This was my first time. O was hoping I'd have one that was different so I could learn to spot differences. But they all always looked the same.

Yea, if you had both males and females, it would be instantly obvious at that age which is which. It definitely sucks when you end up with one gender and you're trying to compare and they all look the same. Lol

If you go for the smaller ones, you're much more likely to get females (depending on age- if they're still only a couple days old, they'll all be pretty much the same size). Around 2 weeks and older, most of the males will be bigger and most females will be the smaller ones (not 100% guaranteed of course, but you should definitely end up with mainly, if not all females if you go for the smaller ones).
