Muscovy

I have a male but he is inside with a lame leg. All the ducks are female that are in the pen
My pekin Peep, is the alpha female in the flock. Everyone looks to her. She checks out any new member and gives what I call her “stamp of indifference”

she walks up to them, gives them the famous duck side eye, then just wanders off to eat some bugs. After that the other ducks mill about and just accept them. So far Peep hasn’t had any issues with anyone.
Peep is a jumbo pekin I think. She is noticeably larger than the other ducks, and one is a pekin, and she watches over everyone and keeps them all in line
That's great. I hope all continues so well when/if your lame drake is reintroduced to them.

I want to be able to accept more rescues but I am limited by the behavior of those I have!!

I am hoping that in the spring I can introduce the female muscovy to my son's pekin flock, before the pekin drake's hormones get high, although he is much larger than the little muscovy, he is no larger than my male muscovy that is so mean. My son's three were raised together from day old chicks. They are tightly bonded together and don't exhibit any pecking order behavior although the drake is "guard duck" and the smallest female is very loud and may be boss duck! [she's crested and cute] I a hoping the pekin drake is more welcoming of a female muscovy out of the breeding season than he was of my rescued muscovy [which I didn't know it at the time but is looking like a drake now] in the breeding season.
