Awesome Is that what they are then? We've never found oysters before so we want to be sure before eating. We also found some chicken of the woods. Not a lot but some

The first pics look like Oyster mushrooms.

Bottom pic is woodear jelly fungus . Edible but I have never ate any . Better double check the oysters . They may be Angle wings and not considered edible . Oysters usually grow on larger wood and are bigger .

Problem with that is, it excludes way too many choice edible species. I've eaten a local variety that seems to be associated with toyon that bruises blue for years now.

What you posted specifically states red pore surface AND blue bruising is to be avoided. That would indicate the Satana species. In any case, the red and orange ones look downright scary! I've only found such bright colored boletes twice and leave those alone.

At any rate, it's a little too late to be all like "don't eat those". Lol I'm pretty confident in these.

I understand it says red pored,
However, it also says because so many boletes that bruise blue it’s best to avoid them...

That said if you know their ok have at it, I thought when you posted the picture you were asking if they were safe. Sorry I misunderstood.

BTW do you have a good life insurance policy?

A stump that’s been giving me oysters at work popped out after a rain. I took a ‘less ‘ buggy clump home with me. Soaked it as I saw a few bugs. Got back home after work and the bottom of the water bowl full of dead maggots. Pitched.
