Mushroom foragers

Pics
@Bogtown Chick : Yes! I know... it's hard for me because of course you should go with someone, and it's hard to find a Mushroom Buddy who will go with you. Or is even available... Half the time, I ask and they can not go.

I mean, hey, they should be JUMPING at the chance, right? But somehow, they think other stuff is more important than mushrooms...

I will be up there around May 7 . Morel time for your area . I will make time for a hunt . I will be sawing lumber and lining up excavation / foundation work . Two weeks then back home for a spell before returning for the summer of building . For Bogtown .

@jerryse you will be in New Mexico??!!! Wow, that's pretty cool as long as you don't have me mixed up with someone else!

@Auroradream26 oh sigh, yes. Or the people who keep telling you that you are going to "kill yourself" by eating wild mushrooms. Even though it's been like, almost 20 years and you have not died yet.

Well, they can't help it, they were brought up that way. And the plain truth is, if people are not willing to pay attention to tiny details, I would prefer they take up some other hobby anyway as I sure don't want anything to happen to them. Also you don't have to eat mushrooms to enjoy them. They make great photography or painting subjects etc. What it really comes down to though is, if they are too scared to eat them, that's OK - MORE FOR ME!

I have found these before . Just never got the nerve to try them . The texture kind of discouraged me .

I have never seen those, but they look as appetizing as the Larch Bolletes I passed them up because they were slimy and just plain ugly. I would need to drink a lot of beer before trying one of them. They had the consistency of raw oysters, another thing I do not eat.

Jerry sounds real good. I hope the rains cooperate a bit. Last year was poor for morels because we didn't get moisture at the right time. Also I must admit my eyeballs don't see those morels like the other more obvious late summer fall varieties. But I know a place... So do a few others. Timing will be critical. Rubber boots with pants tucked in so we don't pick up Lyme disease or anaplasmosis. Deer ticks and wood ticks are insane that time of year.
