Actually, we have looked up the law and found out that roosters are not illegal. So we have decided to keep him and go to court if that jackass keeps calling the cops. We have proven the cops wrong. Every time this person called, they kept giving us a copy of the domestic fowl law which does not say anything about roosters not being allowed. So we went to the animal shelter and told them. The woman claimed that they were illegal but when asked she could not locate the law =/ So the last time they left us a letter, they gave us a copy of another law we are supposedly breaking. It's called a public nuisance law or something. We looked it up and it does not apply to us. So if we go to court, we should win. All of this is so ridiculous. He is not put out until nine in the morning and he doesn't even crow that much throughout the day. He is a bantam, it is nowhere near as loud as a standard rooster. I bet most of these people that are told to get rid of their roosters could legally keep them. They are just discriminated against for some reason. No one would ever be forced to get rid of their dog for barking. But I will keep you in mind if we ever are forced to get rid of him.
