Mute duck?

Pekin maybe? can you post some pics? And your saying one of your ducks doesn't make any sound at all?
No, One makes zero sounds. I talk to Quackers and he or she knows I am talking to him or her and opens mouth like it’s quacking back but no sound comes out. Appetite and drinking water great. Here is a pic of when it was three days old. And then her is one of the two of them in their pool , They love the water just as much as they love getting dirty.

We had originally bought 2 one gray and one yellow, The gray one was so incredibly tiny and died two day’s after we got it so we went back and bought another yellow one because they say you don’t want to have just one because they get Linley. I’m thinking the gray one must have been a preemie or the runt and just didn’t make it as it didn’t act sick.

Adorable pictures.
Maybe this one was born without vocal cords? sounds good and healthy otherwise.

Yes you did the right thing by getting another duckling they really do much better if not alone.
Sorry you lost the little gray one.
