My 1st Egg!

I've been very impatiently waiting for my first egg.

My 3 girls, Amelia (EE), Lola (BR), and Penny (SS), are all almost 22 weeks old. I was sure that Lola was going to be the first to lay. Her comb and waddle are the most developed and very red! Today I go out to check on the girls and give them some tangerine. And there is a brown egg!!

My boyfriend said that he had seen Penny laying there, not Lola as I had predicted!

Poor Penny hurt her foot a couple days ago, but she's not too stressed to start laying!

How exciting!!! I am so happy for you. One of my hens just started laying again (I have 2 SLW girls) they both molted and we refused to buy store eggs. We have 5 eggs in the refrigerator and are planning omletes for supper one night! SOOOOOOO good!! No matter how many eggs we get, I never get over the magic of finding an egg in the nest box. WhooHoo! So glad your girls are getting started. Nothing like it.
