I posted these pictures in my chicken thread, but I figured this was more appropriate for a coop specific location.

I have been at it now with the help of Julie (of course

), and her grandfather on Saturdays, for about 3 weeks now. I'd say it is coming along pretty good. I hope to have it done within a week or two maximum. A little more progress has been made, but this is all I have pictures of so far.
Feel free to let me know what you think. Suggestions and opinions are openly accepted.

I've gotten one window on the side framed in so far, and the rest of the flooring nailed in, but haven't taken pictures yet.

The house specs are:
- 10' wide x 4' deep x 4' high (not including the space up in the rafters)
- 2-3' up off of the ground

The pen specs are:
- 10' wide x 16' long x 6'+ high (the ground is not level!)

The house and 4' or so of the pen will be covered (equaling roughly half of the building total).
The rest will be covered with hardware mesh, etc.
The roof is:
- 3' high with about 27.5* slopes (that is how we cut the boards anyway...)

Let me know what you think.
I'll try to continue updating progress!

Hey, thanks a bunch!
Yes, I will be burying the wire, using decking board to seal as much of the gaps as possible, and possibly using rocks and/or logs to lay along the outside as well.
I probably won't bury much more than 6-12", but I'll just see how it works out for me.
How does this sound?

wow, very nice!!!! btw, Im going for the electric wire, having had predators remove large river rocks and dig under the cyclone fence...
cant wait to see how this is finished, be sure to show the inside as well

What a great idea to frame the entire building and run as 1 unit!! The only thing I would suggest after building several outbuildings is that this is the time to drop in a water and/or electric line to the building if you're planning to do so. The building looks great and I'm jealous of your setting with all those trees!!!

Thank you! I really thought going into this, after seeing some of the setups on here, that it was going to be an uphill battle to come up with anything close. I was just striving for mediocrity when I started!

Thanks! I will try to update it along the way, and answer any questions if I can help out as well.
I made need more help from you all than you all need from me though!

I appreciate the input. I will certainly keep this in mind as I make the move to get the chickens out. Hopefully I might be able to avoid the predators by and large, but this is definitely a notable idea that I won't dismiss. Thank you!

Hey, thanks! I used a number of coops on here for ideas, as there is a lot of ingenuity within Backyard Chickens!
I will try to get a page up after the build for sure. I'll try not to forget about this, as looking at others' was what helped me get off the ground.

Thank you!
As much as I'd like to take credit for the design, I have to say that the coop, in general design, sprang from this coop:
"Chicken Noodle Coop"
https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=45727

Although I am doing it a bit differently, that gave me the idea, for the most part, and apparently they got the idea somewhat from others...so there may be a lot of people to credit here!

A number of others got me going on coming up with a design though.
While mine may not show similarities to these, I'd say some of the coops that really got the wheel turning for me or gained my interest in the process of building were (but not limited to):

"Chicken Paradise Coop"
