My 1st Southern Coop

Well, here are the updated pictures.
I didn't get quite as much done as I would like, but I'm not in a terrible rush so it's alright.

Thanks so much! It is taking some time to finish up, so I'll see how far along I can get...
The 12" OC plywood I am using just went Non-Stock at like 80% of the Lowe's stores within 50-100 miles of me it appears.
I needed 2 sheets and only found 1, but hopefully the local store will get it in like they said they were going to do for me tomorrow.

Thank you!
I am pretty happy with the size for the 12 chickens I have now (a lot of them are banties, as you can see in my chicken thread).
I could add a few more, but I'll have to see how it works out I suppose.
Getting ever inch covered with the wire is going to be difficult too. I need to go over and double check the roof area we covered before moving on, but the chickens will probably be closed in the coop for a few days or more at first, so I should have plenty of time.

The to-do list to complete is longer than I'd like it to be though:

- finish putting up wall on the back of coop
- gables on front and back of coop
- hardware mesh everywhere I haven't covered (which is just the roof so far)
+ putting decking board, apron and nails in ground
- finish waterproofing the inside of the coop
- stain the wood
- make the screen door
- make the walk into the coop

It feels like I'm so close...but not really...

just a few updates, hopefully more to come after this weekend!
we still have to cut the holes for the vents at the top of the house, as well as put on the wiring/fencing.

Beautiful work!

The only thing I'm wondering about is your ventilation in winter. You won't want to leave those windows open because that they're at roost level. Do you have any vents higher up in the gable area?

I'm about to put (2) 1'+ by 1'+ vents on the rear gable of the coop. They have angled covers though, so gusts won't blow around anything. The heat should rise in the winter and go out the vents, and should supply enough ventilation there.
