Yeah,
This one is a whole lot more work than my first one.
Last summer she emptied the BIG tub of vaseline all over herself, the pot, the medicine cabinet, it's contents, the basin, the walls, and the floor...she looked like a greased pig. That was a chore to clean up...especailly since it's water soluble. I wish I had thought of the "dawn" dish soap...wonder if that would have worked?
Then just last week I think it was or the week before she emptied out a tube of A&D ointment all over one of the couch pillows...at least it zips off and is washable I thought to myself. I looked around and besides her cheeks and hands...nothing else looked like it had diaper ointment on it....until I noticed the elderly cat 2 hours later. Poor cat. Then a friend on here suggests I use olive oil...she's from Cali and her dh heard they use that to clean up the wild life that swam in oil sludge...so I poured it on her...I came back to report that I didn't know if it had worked or not but the cat was all schlicked up now. And cat won...she was mad and scratched so I let her alone. Then her hair looked all wet and spikey for at least a week after. I figured at least that may help her process those hairballs she coughs up... ha ha.
And her recent food story is....I caught her emptying out ALL the dog food out of the bin onto the floor with the scoop. So I got the dust pan and she used the scoop and she helped me scoop it all back into the bin. After we picked up that mess and went to sit down on the couch to put our shoes and socks on...I notice the elderly cat that sleeps all day on the couch was eating from a HUGE pile of cat food ON the couch. Yeah, that was pleasant. I like to have the cat food smell on my fabrics.
But like you said, Bsaffles...she was just trying to help mama out and just the imagining her little thought process in wanting to feed and tend to the animals....sigh....what a sweet little naughty helper. I tried to tell her that they only get fed when MOMMY says...and mommy helps by handing them how much they can eat...and then she can dump it into their bowls...
But then there's the fish...it was always just a pinch into her wee little palm...I never imagined she'd dip her hands in and suck it though. sigh.
Now they are asleep and look like angels...
Well, then I get home and my 7 year old had a night terror. She woke up in a cold sweat, her legs are shaking/kicking/jerking pretty bad and she's saying something I can't understand...I finally am able to make it out and she keeps saying, "There's blood in the water. There's blood in the water." So I tell her that "mommy is home now, everything is the same, there is no water, she is in her bed, it's just a dream..." But she's frantic...
I have her lay down and lay my hand on her back and one on her forehead and pray that Jesus would make her mind clear, show her everything was ok, and give her rest...and she started to come down off her night terror and was able to go back to sleep. And she won't remember anything in the morning. This is the second time she has said anything during one of these attacks. It's very peculiar. But the Chicago's childrens hospital that saw her said it's more terrifying to the parents than it is to the child. It's hormonal and she'll grow out of it. and they don't remember it in the morning...and they don't. I always ask her if she remembers getting up during the night and she doesn't. sigh.
But I had a nice visit with 5 other moms tonight. And my mom is happy the night terror happened when I was home because it would have freaked her out. grin.
me,
