I meant your Duck hens....Yes, oyster shell is calcium and helps to build eggs....

......Without the oyster shell they can lay soft shelled eggs....Then sometimes they just eat those...

Oh, last time there was any broken ones no one ate them, I'm also in there pretty often but I'll see if it works

That happened to my friend's chickens. They had names, but they couldn't tell who was who. The names constantly changed (Now they have no names

).

Mine were 6 months old when they started laying. I think it takes then a little longer if they are reaching maturity in the winter.
