he told me 9 years ago when we got married that he wanted 5 boys to help him in his carpenter buisness...welll we've had 3 girls and 1 boy is all! So he said he'll teach the girls if they want to learn... so far they do!

When she's done, can she come up to the PNW and help me? Looks like hers will be better than ours! Congrats!

I am bursting with pride on your behalf to be honest. She is so beautiful and she will remember this project for the rest of her life. Its so good when they are allowed to show how responsible they can be and allowed to shine. My Dd is 7 her name is Isabel, my family in Spain Call her Isabela, for what ever reason they are adamant in adding an "a" a tthe end of her name, lol

I have been talking to my Dh about doing a kids project around here with my dd and her little friends, and its funny cause a young coworker of mine, she is 16 told me this community used to have a 4-H club but the shut it down and she used to be part of it and loved being it, and that when they shut down a lot of kids were left out with nothing to turn to. Since I was told this I have been thinking of how great it would be to have something like that in this small community again.

great pictures...she is going to be one driven young lady for sure!!

That is awesome! My 7 year old daughter has been begging for chickens for about 2 years, and we just got a coop, which came with 5 surprise chickens, today. She is going to be given quite a bit of responsibility, and hopefully we will be moving into her getting "her own" chickens by next year. I think helping build her own coop is a great idea!

Thanks everyone! I showed her this thread and told her that we're all proud of her! She's my oldest and to see her grow up is amazing. I remember when she was 7lbs... and now she can do so much!
I did 4-H all growing up I trained dogs... I loved it and I learned so much responsibility. And I agree work is good for you! We will hopefully hit it again on Monday and I'll get more pics.

Good for you too Daddy! My DH is out now duck hunting w/ our 15 yr old daughter, (our son goes too, but its her turn!)
He is so good with her, treating her like a princess while at the same time doing activities considered by many to be father/son stuff. She has boys for friends but not interested in dating or "boyfriends" yet, knock on wood! Believe me, this will pay off when your kid is a teenager... Tell your daughter to post her coop plans please, I need a small coop like that for some banties! Shes doing a great job, these are great skills to have as an adult
