My African geese (2 ganders) are sick what do I need?

I am so sorry for your lose of the one gander. As the rest have said you did nothing wrong and did give it a try he was just too far gone for you to help him. With geese you have to hope on it right away because they go fast when something is wrong.
Now get on the other gander on the sores. I would hate to see you lose him as well from them sores...

J, I am so happy that you white girl finally passed that mess and she is recovering!!! I pray that she gets all better and can return out with her goose family....

So very sorry about Henry.

Thank you all for the kind words and sentiments. It helps to know there those who understand how it feels to lose one of our sweet companions. I am very worried about Scarface and how he will take this, since it hurts me this bad I can't even imagine how it must be hurting him after being with him everyday all day and night for 20 or so years. He's been calling him all day long going around looking for him and calling him. It is raining and storming here all day today and going to be all day tomorrow too, so I'm not going to mess with him and his face right now. I'm afraid that the shock of that and the loss of Henry right this minute may make things worse for him. Going to wait until all this weather is over at least. I haven't the heart to do anything today. We just got finished burying Henry in the pouring down rain, and it's a dreary sad and nasty day today. Thank you all for the comfort and the help and advise.

For what it is worth, I believe Henry had an amazing life (better than most geese) and in the end, he went peacefully on the water with his companion by his side. That's all any animal, especially a goose, could hope for. I have much respect for the care you provided him for many years.

Thank you so very much Iain!

Hope your white goose continues to recover and is back to her old self in no time. You are also a great caregiver and all your special animals are so very lucky to have you as their mother. I will be still praying for you and for your lovely girl, and for Scarface also. Hope we can get him a companion, maybe a girl this time. Thought that's what Henry was at first. Maybe a couple of girls for him. Don't even know where to start looking.

and some ointment, at least, just not today or tomorrow. I'll be posting and let you know what's going on with him. Hope you will continue to let us know how your beautiful girl is continuing to do.

Many Blessings!!

Some feed stores and Tracor Supply sell goslings. You could call around and see if they have any. Also can check adds looking to rehome adult geese. There is also a buy, sell, trade place here on BYC that you may find some.
Good luck to you and your babies

Thank you for the tips on finding some companions for my Scarface. I would think that we would need to get more grown geese than babies. He's never been around any little kids before. They may get on his nerves since he's old. I think he would like some little young ladies instead, unless they would be trouble to keep here without them running off or something and not get confused about where they are or something like that. What do you think?

I'm not sure. Geese are social group animals. Scarface will probably show them all the good spots, like the pond. Do you have an enclosure? Could put them there for a few days before turning them loose.

I could make one. Guess that's what I need to do before getting them. Won't take much to do. Don't guess it would have to be very very big. Probably could use the small garden spot where we usually plant our tomatoes and turnip greens. :)
