My ducks and chickens are pecking each other. My ducks are really hurt. Why are they doing this. I also had one hen pass

Feeding laying mash and corn. Have a big pen and backyard

Pecking for a few months but just last night my chickens pecked my ducks bad. Bloody

• Last night? Do u mean after dark? Do you have artificial light in the coop? If no artificial light, it would be very unusual for chickens to do any pecking at all at night, since they have very poor (almost zero) night vision.

OP report back when u can, If u dont provide artificial light, & if u are Sure the injuries are ocurring during the night, suspect a predator. For example, rats could inflict bites that might resemble pecking.
