My baby chick has a damaged leg.

This morning i could not find one of my 3 baby chicks. They are about 1 week old. several hours later i found her bundled up in the hey with a damaged leg. i took her out and put her in a basket. she is eating and drinking, very responsive, but her leg is tucked under her and it looks like there may have been skin broken. the mom tried to peck her, is it possible for her to heal/ what should i do?

It is most likely possible to heal, but please describe the injury in more detail.

It would help if you could post a picture. Try to keep her hydrated, and feed her if you have to.

We had an accident with a chick a few weeks ago. Her leg got crushed. My DH bandaged it and we just left the bandage on for awhile, made sure she ate and drank and sort-of kept up with her mom. She's fine now. Still walks with a bit of a limp, but she healed up nicely.
