HI Everyone,
Last Friday we picked up our 4 baby chicks. All of them are different breeds. I have New Hampshire Red, Barred Rock Chicken, Delware chicken, and cannot remember the 4th (brown bird). Anyways, two days later we noticed someone was pecking at the area right above her eyes ( yellow birds). Creating little sores. I was using a regular heat lamp. So I separated the injured chick (yellow bird) from the rest until I went out and bought a red lamp. I split the Barred Rock and the brown chick (unknown name) on one side of the bin and the two yellow birds ( New hamp and delware) on the other. The injured chick yesterday kept her right eye closed but the left eye was fully opened. Today both eyes are closed. She is doing fine,, eating and drinking and seems happy. Will her eyes open again:? Can she survive not seeing?
