When my oldest dog was a tiny puppy she was a terrible chewer, only she preferred to chew on me. Ouch with those little puppy teeth! It got so that everytime she came out of her crate I would hand her a toy to chew on and then love all over her safe from the razor teeth. Now that she's a grown up dog of 50+ pounds she still goes to find a toy when she wants loving. The minute I get home or the minute someone comes to the house/yard, she searches for a toy, picks it up and then comes over the get scratched. It's really sweet!

I have a 4 month old Giant Malamute. he is weighing in at 55 lbs so far.
On his hind legs he is almost 5 ft tall,
you can see a picture of him here.

i am forever being told he isnt a pure Malamute because of his Color which is Red, It gets very frustrating to say the least.
I chose to tell them once, no he isnt a showable color, yes he is pure, Yes I have seen the mother, father, grandparents.
if the still insist I walk away.
I refuse to fight with them over something I know is a genetic possiblity.
All animals carry Dilute genetic colors matching them correctly brings out the reds, blues, fawns, merel, etc.

Merle is actually dominate. I have thankfully never had anyone argue w/ me about mine being purebred, I think people around here can generally spot a dane, more people then not know mine are danes, even those that say they've never seen that color (mostly refering to my white).

Although I did once make the mistake of asking a dane rescue what their pups where mixed w/ (and not because of their color), they were very offended and informed me that they were PURE! (they weren't, but I didn't argue). I just told them they were cute either way!

Awww, He's adorable!

I love his color too.

I have a lurch that is a great dane/grey hound mix. Whenever people see him they ask me what he is. I tell them he's a lurch, and then have to explain what a lurch is. I don't mind because I didn't know what a lurch was either until the humane society brought him to me for foster care.
