my baby peafowl ate a string

Hello, My baby peafowl ate a string (about 3 weeks old). It was hanging out a bunch and I try to pull it out but it seems to be attach to his tong so I cut the string, and then try to look in the mouth to see where it was going. So I cut it as close to the tongue as possible. Put him back into the cage and is eating and drinking or appears to be. Do you think the string will pass eventually?

You will never see that string again. The chick is fine, they eat lots of things they shouldn't. This too will pass.
