My Barnevelders hatched

Oh those are just adorable! Congrats. I am in the middle of incubating my own barnevelders. I can't wait. They're just so darn cute!

The only way to go....... Julie is very honest and will go out of her way for you... The best I have worked with......... I spoke with her when I purchased mine and she highly recommended Christina Ledfored at Peace of Thyme as well.. She said they have worked together with improving and breeding this breed..... They both have a link to eachothers websites on their websites...... You would do well with Barnevelders purchasing from either of these breeders..............

Thank you for the info on Christina at Peace of Thyme, in addition to Julie. I don't know if I have the mental capabilities of working toward breeding lines (it seems so complex when I can barely tell the roos from the pullets!), but it's wonderful to know where I can turn for other eggs if I want to bring in outside lines (or at least more distantly related lines) for breeding. I wish I could find some Barnie breeders in my area to teach me the ropes of proper breed conformation and whatnot. When I read about the standards, I sort of scratch my head and think, "They all pretty much look the same to me!" Oh well, that's what BYC is all about...helping each other find our ways in the world of chickendom!

Someone posted a link to Gabbard in the past few days and I checked it out as well. They have some really interesting breeds! One of them was $95 for a dozen eggs! That's NOT a risk I'm willing to take for shipped eggs- but at least you know that there are people selling quality and rarity. Wish I would have done more research before I started my flock- it would have been completely different.

Congrats on the hatch- sweet babies!

I currently have eBay eggs bought from Julie, she has been over the top about helping me! I highly recommend her to others. She is great and the chickens look very nice.

12/12 woohoooo!

I wanted to add that I too spoke with Julie in the early part of this year. I had a lot of questions and she was VERY helpful and willing to take the time out to help. A great lady IMO.

Congrats on your babies!, I too am located in Ohio (southern) and was worried about having eggs shipped. I am glad to see you had a great outcome.

I have gorgeous chickens I got from someone who hatched Gabbard Farms eggs -- they are AWESOME. I just ordered some speckled sussex from them. Congrats on your 100% hatch!
