My Bees....pics

Man! To harvest my own honey! That would be superb...The only problem is...IM HIGHLY alergic to Bee stings as of this year. My whole life I never was before but This summer I got stung by a MEAN attacking Mike Tyson Bee that kicked my butt and I have been Highly Alergic every since...Oh well..Maybe one of my friends will decide to start keeping Bees.. We have a Tupelo Honey town nearby but the Honey is so much more expensive than store bought honey...Oh well....

Wow! I love the pictures. I've played with the idea but I haven't come across any hives. However, there are ALOT of bees around my house. Maybe I should try following them home. I don't know of anyone raising them locally. If I came was in the same situation as you, I would want to do the same.

I've got some maple trees and I'm waiting for them to get a little bigger right now to start harvesting. (Supposed to be at least 12" in diameter.)

Good luck with your "girls"! Keep us posted on how they are doing...

Sorry guys....they are all in and seem to be doing fine. I won't be peaking in on them anymore though till next weekend. I will check the feed every day but try not to look through window. I have it blocked right now. They also just got a tube to the outside today so hopefully it will be a little warmer here in the next couple days and some of the girls can get some fresh air.
Here are some pics!

That is so exciting! I'm hoping to get bees in the spring, and I can't wait!
I'm planning on using a Top Bar hive and I'm so exited!

I love that your hive has a window so cute
Best of luck!

Wow! That is something I would like to do and am thrilled for you! My grandmother used to keep hives and sold her honey, I have her old labels and would love to use them and carry on the tradition, someday!! Gotta get my chickens first and then I can move on to other projects!
I wish you the best and keep us posted with pictures, very interesting!!
