my best friend is a flake

TAKE THE CAT!!! Give it to Redhen. Immediately. Then develop amnesia as to where it is. The cat doesn't deserve to be abused and mistreated or killed. Making the idiot keep the cat in order to teach her a lesson in responsible behavior is cruel. To the cat. If she is determined to end up in the emergency room or the morgue herself that is her choice. The poor cat doesn't have a vote. By the way, at least 30% of the women who are murdered are killed by their significant other.

The problem with taking the cat? She will just get another cat....and then rinse and repeat.....I truly feel sorry for the cat, I have four right now (one just showed up one day) and would rather see the cat go to a good home, but that will create a "hole" in her life that she will fill with yet another kitten/cat/puppy/dog or whatever.

It's like those women who get a child taken away, and they get preggers again....and again....and again...

he's refusing to go to her house, so she's going to his house for the whole weekend, leaving her cats alone... fed and safe, but still. she thinks he might have emotional problems from his last girlfriend... but thinks she can help 'heal' him. ugh.

Does anyone think we should give the kitty to redhen?

My mom has went through this before.....

Even if you take the cat "temporarily" what is she gonna do when it's time to take it back and he pulls this crap again? Has she even thought about that? Past girlfriends are no excuse for being a manipulative control freak! I see this getting very nasty and you'll be at the bad end of it. If you take the cat, you're obligated to give it back-and to keep it however long it takes. If she decides it's best not to have it back, then you're stuck with it (although you obviously have volunteers to take her off your hands LOL) but it could turn out real bad for you...it could cause there to be bad feelings between you and her...

Is she willing to pay for the food and litter and anything else that it needs at least?? Vet care?? Have you talked about that? What happens if the cat gets sick? How do you know that she'll be footing the bill?

Where have I seen this before? Ummmm, let... me... think. Oh, now I remember. With every loser on the planet that can't live without drama in their life.
Forward all the above replies to your 'friend' and quit answering the phone when she calls.

My nephew's 'temporary' wife knew he loved to get into fights when she met him. But she was going to change him. She couldn't understand it when he continued to get in fights after they were married. - Losers.

Also, the cost of the cat is meaningless. She HAD $1,000.00, till she spent it on a cat that could get run over, choke to death on a hairball or get eaten by a coyote.
It's like buying a new truck. You HAD 30,000 until you drove it off the lot. Now you have 23,000 only if you can find someone with to part with that much to take it off your hands.

well, I'm just glad I don't have that cat yet... it's still on the proverbial table though, but i did promise redhen that if I end up with the cat and she ends up not taking it back by the prearranged time/date, that I'll drive it down to redhens house and she can keep him.
