Oh now you have me worried about my chicks too. Mostly cause they are a mothers day present for my momma.

I originally tried to order from Belt cause they are local but they wont sell to me because they sell to two feed stores here. I called those stores to see if they would order the variety I was hoping for and NO they only get like 3 kinds. No Jerseys, No Cochins, No EE's. So dopey they wont sell to me.

they are white jersey giants
i bought white jersey giants last week
and they look exactly the same as the chicks
you have

I ordered from Belt hatchery, my birds should be here this evening. They usually sell wholesale, but they sale to individuals too.

That's awful! I ordered from Meyer and spent HOURS deciding what I wanted for my little flock. They don't come until June, but now I'm nervous!

I had good luck with Meyers.
The negative: two birds of different breeds had severe cross-beaks (out of 25), - one died, the other manages to eat and is laying.
The positive: The order was correct (despite getting 9 different breeds), only one error on sexing, and my free extra bird was a Welsummer (hen). All three of my Welsummers from Meyer lay really dark beautiful eggs.

I think everyone takes a risk with a hatchery. There seem to be negative and positive stories for every hatchery out there. If you do not need show quality birds and like to try different breeds every few years, you'll likely be satisfied.
