I thought I had read somewhere that they will sell to individuals, though I could have been mistaken on that. Belt also provides chicks to the feed stores here in the greater Sacramento area, as well as several up and down the valley... surely they provide chicks to many, if not all, of the feed stores in Fresno. Now, I grew up in Merced so I know that area well so I *know* there are a lot of feed stores in Fresno. Even if you can't buy directly from Belt Hatchery, a quick drive to pretty much any feed store in Fresno ought to render you the chicks you want.

In any case, I'm sorry to hear your chicks weren't what you expected. Hopefully they'll still grow up to lay lots of yummy eggs for you and be good additions to your flock/home.

Evans Feed and Valley Feed in Madera both start taking orders in March. Decent hatchery birds, got my whole order right (6 breeds for 16 birds) except for the white silkies. Both have the same chart with about 10 or so regular size chicken breeds with several colors for some and about 4 or 5 bantam choices.
