My booted chickie - did I do it right?

Wow- I took off my orthopedic shoe and after no more than 12 hours, her middle toe is fixed!! My chick is 2 days old. I didn't take off the wrap on the outside toe- it was really bad and I'm going to leave it one more day- it was too hard to get on!!

For those considering this: I posted that my girl's middle toe was fixed, but within about 20 minutes it started to curl again.

I've rebandaged it and will wait until tomorrow...unfortunately she is stuck with Hannah Montana staring at her until then, and she hates it!!

Tattoo bandaids crack me up!!

Crifying that her toe was *NOT* truly fixed after only 12 hours.

I leave my chicks boots on for as long as they are clean. It puts alot of stress on the chicks to mess with the feet alot. I found this out the hard way! I had one that I kept changing and he did not make it. I have also taken them off after two days and thought they were fixed...they were not fixed yet. I now leave them on at the very least a week and I try to keep them on two weeks or more just to be sure they are growing the way they should!!

The medical bandage that sticks to its self works great!! It is thin enough that you can trim it all around the toes!
