That is way to drafty!!! do you have a stoarge bin?? that works better!!!!​

I think that will do fine for a week or two, if you wrap some cardboard around the outside you'll take care of the draft problem. Good luck with your chicks.

Yeah, I am making a similar setup.
I have a large dog crate and I'm attaching cardboard to the sides and bottom.

As long as you put something around the outside it should work fine

Its not outside.. its in a stall that is draft free!!

I think the suggestions about putting something along the sides were also to help hold the heat in. I have mine in a platic bin with a window on the side and still have to cover half of the top to keep them warm enough. Otherwise, all the heat from your bulb is just going to dissipate.

You really do need to wrap it with some cardboard to help hold the heat in. Especially if it's outside in the barn.
