Hi all.
So last Friday one of our Partridge Rocks "Neckie" (long story) goes broody. Last Saturday night I see that Palofino's Melissa has hatching eggs for sale.
I did the Paypal thing, Monday she sent them from Houston and TODAY I got 8 large BEAUTIFUL, BLUE, Wheaten/ Blue Wheaten Americauna eggs. They all looked wonderful. Each egg was wrapped in bubble wrap and then newspaper and all of them were surrounded by wadded up newspaper. No cracks, all intact... they were a little cold but it is 56 degrees outside right now so that shouldn't have any effect on their viability. The only thing I can think of that could possibly change their viability would be the jostling of the package during transit.
At 12:30PM Today, I put the eight beautiful, blue eggs underneath Neckie so I'm hoping for at least 4 or 5 fluffly Americauna chicks to start pipping and zipping out of shells on January 9th at day 21! I am hoping for at least one Blue Wheaten cockeral that looks similar to the one that she has on her hatching eggs thread... and a couple of beautiful Wheaten pullets.
As soon as I can, I'll go out with the camera and I'll document Neckie in her nest box and lift her up so you can see the eggs.... they really are beautiful.
Send some good hatching vibes toward Phoenix!
