hey, those are some adorable chicks, as long as they are sheltered at night and not out in the 20 degree weather you should be fine, i dont put heat on my chicks that are with broodies unless they have alot of chicks, usually when i have a hen go broody i put about six under them and whatever other eggs are layed on that day and the day after go in the bator, and then when they all hatch i give them back to the mom, so ive had bantam cochins raise 20 chicks at a time, and in a case like that, i put heat on them, cuase there isnt enough room under the broody
i jsut had a white cochin hen go broody today and she is cracking me up she is only on 5 eggs but she is stretched out in her nest and she looks like a pancake with a head or like a flounder, and i put 12 eggs in the bator today as well, so in 3 weeks i will have babies too
