My Burger King Rant

Chookies, I've already "outed" you on this thread, right after Princess K admitted she didn't like mayo either. How do you keep your fur shiny if you don't eat oils?

Regarding PC's serving size, I suspect he is still trying to cull his sorrows of being currently chickenless.

When ordering pizza I noticed a strange phenomenon.

I don't like a Hawaiian. I like Canadian bacon and I like pineapple but I don't mix my sweet and savory. Almost never. I have to have a separate plate if I'm going to have a pancake with breakfast because I'll be darned if I'm going to let my eggs and potatoes be contaminated with syrup.

Back to my observation:

I used to order a two topping pizza and sometimes I would order Canadian bacon and pepperoni.
If I ordered it just as typed above I would invariably be delivered a Hawaiian. They would hear "Canadian bacon and p-" and their minds would fill in the rest the way they expected to hear it- "pineapple" I picked off the pineapple and ate it separately and then ate a Canadian bacon pizza without complaining.

After realizing what was going on I changed my strategy as an experiment. I would order as follows: "I'd like Canadian bacon and ...uh...uh...uh do you have pepperoni?... Ok I'll have that too." Worked every time.

Amazing how we hear what we expect to.

OK, I have the topper for fast food yuckky stuff. Many years ago, I worked for a facility that trains individuals with handicaps and helps them find employment and housing in the community. Frequently, this type of individual have difficulty controlling thier, ummm, drives. One of our clients got fired from Hardees because he was caught doing something very inappropriate into the gravy. The health department closed down the place and they had to completely disinfect every surface in the place and replace all food supplies before they could reopen. I have NEVER gone back to that restaurant again. And NEVER order gravy from ANY restaurant!

Unfortunately, because fast food pays the least, they don't get the best quality workers. My son worked for McDonalds for several years, both as crew and as management, and he had just an awful time trying to get people to give a **** about thier jobs. No matter how much training you give someone, you just can't force good character.

Mmhmm.. the highlight of my day is getting a new kid who realises that Hungry Jacks (Burger King) ISNT rocket science.. its easy to get it right and be nice to the customer at the same time.

And while I agree with you and gave up on Maccas when they constantly screwed up on me.. Dont abuse the chick out the front.. Its not her fault that boys are yucky and to dumb to put a burger together properly.

I make waaay to many mistakes and feel bad. And correct them all before the customer even unwraps their food, and they look at me like I'm satan.. hey I'm fixing it arent I.. next time I'll let you eat your poison burger

Their parents had the one and only chance at that.

I used to work in a pizza restaurant and I know what it's like to have to deal with complaining customers. We would get more to complain just to get free food. They would clal the next day or week to complain or claim somebody told htem they would get something free next time. But when we did get a lagitamate complaint we would make extra sure it was exaclty ike they wanted and would put more of the toppings they wanted on it to make them happy. We wanted them to come back. If we lost them we lost business and eventually our jobs.

So, if I constantly get the wrong order or it messed up I just go elsewhere. I rarely complain. And i'm always nice to the employees. I did complain at Burger King once and the assistant manager basically called me a liar. If I hadn't been very tired and alaready home I would have walked in and showed him that I got chicken fries instead of a whopper. I'm sure I can tell the difference. He tried to tell me he has only sold 1 order of chicken fries. Yeah, but I got them. He said nobody called to say the got a whopper instead of chicken fries. I was the only person in line. The parking lot was empty. How hard can it be to get 1 order right. I quit going to that Burger King.
