my cat vomits

Yes, puking is just something that cats do. One of my cats has very long hair, and he pukes a lot. Sometimes he actually gets a hairball to come up, too. I try to brush him often, especially during hot weather when he is shedding, and I also have a tube of Hairball Remedy that I give him. It's in the pet section at almost any store. I'm not sure how much it helps, but he likes it, so I think of it as a treatie that might help him.

This is a funny thread.

Buff -- What a cute boy Buddy is! I'm a sucker for those orange & white boys (well most of them are boys anyway).

It has gotten to the point where I don't bother to get out of bed at night to clean up after our freakazoid tortiseshell anymore. I'd lose too much sleep and probably step in it in the dark anyway.

where can you get the laxatone? i've read that you can feed them canned pumpkin mixed w/ their food. the fiber supposedly helps with the furball in the intestine.but who ever heard of a cat eating pumpkin?

mine hasn't!!! i found brushing the cat helped greatly reduce her episodes of vomiting.

Some dogs & cats are allergic to corn based kibble and most dry kibble is corn based. Sounds like many of you should at least try switching over to corn free cat kibble. My daughter's cat is allergic to it and that's why he barfed up his dinners. Another sign in dogs would be ongoing ear infections, hotspots they lick at and goopy eyes. There are some good corn free kibbles. I have cats & dogs that are allergic to corn.

I'd treat for hairballs. Most likely problem. Femalt is available at most pet supplies. We give it to our cat monthly and it curtails a lot of that 'puking' ... and we KNOW when we forget!

My cat gets high quality kibble that (if I remember correctly) doesn't contain corn products. She also has really short hair and no hair comes up in her vomit. Usually it is because she eats too fast because the other cats harass her.

This is the culprit. He is supposed to be about 14 years old according to the rescue centre that I got him from. He still likes climbing on doors. I am happy to say that he does not vomit up there!..yet...
