My cats r driving me crazy (A kitty Rant)

I have the earplugs and I used to shut the door til the cats started to tear at the carpet by the doorjamb. Sometimes, you just can't win.

I came here to say that! You beat me to it, so I'll share a recipe:

Cat a-la refrigerante
--------------------------
1 cat, in bag
1/2 cup refrigerante
1/2 can tuna

combine refrigerante & tuna together, open bag, feed to cat. Once ingested, put cat back in bag, let 'mellow' for a couple of hours for best taste.

Preheat oven to 350, remove cat from bag, pour into pan, bake for 1 hour. Serve.

*If you can't find refrigerante, you may substitute anti-freeze.

Ok, enough bad jokes. Ok one more; - Cat, a defective dog!

Oh yes, they are quite the lil beasts at times. My Dinkus loves to toss his ball down the stairs so he can chase it, seems like he does this all night... the thumping noise lulls me to sleep now. Then there's Sasha, who sleeps on my pillow every night and sometimes decides I need a middle of the night grooming. Nothing like a sandpaper tongue for forehead exfoliation. She may open her own spa in the near future.
Brutus waits till I'm in a deep sleep. He uses his massive head like a plow to lift my chin so he can snuggle against my side, face to face with me. Ah yes, the smell of stale canned cat food kitty breath up ones nostrils.

I have other kitties that have their own lil quirks at night.
Put it this way, with my DH, a 108 lb huskadore, and my kitties, I sure don't need extra blankets at night.
Love them all.

I heart all the stories now i know im not the only one with being stayed up all night. sigh. and yes Irwin and Azure have clawed up a nice big chunk of carpet from in front of the door where i have ignored them. nice one !! ive thought about sleeping pills but worried about wakign up as freddy or something from irwin trying to "revive" me all night.

Get a string toy and play some intense tag with them in the late evening. One of mine was dumped at my dad's house as a kitten. When he couldn't care for her she joined our zoo. She was used to lots of outdoor excercise and did all the things you mentioned. She was massively irritating for about 8 years and then I persuaded the kids to let her out (supervised) in our fenced yard. I actually like her now. The outside thing would not have worked when she was younger. Fences didn't even slow her down and she thought asphalt was a backscratcher.

I used to have the same problem. Then I realized that if I "poked" the cats if I saw them sleeping during the day so THEY couldn't get their daytime beauty sleep, they would be so tired they slept all night.

Just keep messing with them during the daytime.
