Hi everyone. I would not make this post, but I just need to know what yall think. We noticed that this little chick had a limp right after we got him/her. We seperated it from the others hoping that would help, but it has progressively gotton worse. The chick eats and drinks plenty and his poop looks normal. He doesn't walk on the bad leg, but rather uses it to kinda "scoot" with his good leg. Yall, I've been just distraught about this. These little guys were my first chicks and I love them so much. I don't want him to suffer, be in pain or have a poor quality of life. He seems content, but being new to chicks, I wouldn't really know how to tell if one was in pain. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I hope I followed the directions correctly on uploading an image. If not, I'll keep trying until I get it right

I have not seen him bend it at all. He does move it a tiny bit to brace himself. He is pretty much in this position (in the pic) all the time. Thank you so much for your response.

What about the toes... Do the toes move at all?? If not I think it is quite possible the leg could be dislcoated... Im not good with chickens though, I hope someone else with more experience may also see this and help out as well.

His toes can move a little. They definitely don't look straight and spread out like (normal). I'll get a pic with a close up of his toes.

Someone sent me this link when I had a chick with a leg problem.

I'm new at this too but I think it's important to get the chick up on their own legs, if possible, soon.

PS My chicken survived her ordeal and is running and flapping in her own brooder right now. She's almost healed well enough to go back in with her friends.
