That could be a barnevelder. I had a barnevelder chick last year whose feathers looked similar.

Agreed. It's been 15 years since I've had Barnevelder chicks, but to me it looks right for a Barnie...

Barnevelder seems right. Definitely not a Welsummer or Speckled Sussex.
