hi I have 3 3 month old polish bantems but 1 kept escaping so we put it in a run with some 2 month old lavender pekins after a few days I noticed he was sneezing and he’s been doing this for about 5 days I’m not sure how to help him and I don’t want him to get the 15 other chicks ill has anyone got any ideas on how to help

Hi @Trinny :frow Welcome To BYC
Do you have any photos or a video?
How often is he sneezing?
Any other symptoms like mucous from the nostrils, facial swelling, watery/bubbly eyes, coughing, wheezing or lethargy?

Watch to see when and how often he is sneezing. Is it when he scratches through bedding or during/after he eats, or is he continually sneezing and having difficulty with other respiratory symptoms.
Sometimes dry dusty bedding/feed, poor ventilation, getting food/dirt in the nostrils or molds can also cause sneezing. Watch to see that he is drinking/eating well, look at his nostrils to make sure they are free of obstruction and evaluate whether it's illness or environment causing sneezing.

You can also try something like VetRx to see if that may give him some relief, if he has not other symptoms.

Hi thx for replying I went out to cheek on him and he sneezed about 3 times I couldn’t get a sneez on video but I got him breathing and it’s sounded like his nostrils were full of mucous I can only send a photo he sneezes everywhere frequently I’m not sure how to shear a video on here

So he has been sneezing but this is his breathing which dose not sound good

He's a cutie:)

The breathing is concerning, Infectious Bronchitis and Mycoplasma are a couple of common respiratory illnesses. Usually these are accompanied by more symptoms. Milder cases of Infectious Bronchitis may just present with sneezing.

Tylan50 can help with secondary infections (bacterial) , but it not that effective if treating Infectious Bronchitis (viral). You can try treating him to see if there is any improvement. Tylan 50 can be given orally 2X per day - dosage is .20ml per 1lb of weight. You want to make sure he has plenty of ventilation, is eating/drinking well and that his crop is emptying overnight.
You can also use the VetRx in addition to antibiotics, since it's an "natural remedy".

Just to cover all bases - what type of food/treats do you feed him, does he have poultry grit available free choice and have you checked for any signs of lice/mites.

To share a video, I believe you need to upload to Youtube or Vimeo then post a link to it.
I moved my chick into a seperate pen with coop and I gave him some food with some grit and meal worms but he’s not eating or drinking

I would move him back with the ones he was just with, to see if he will eat and drink better. They have all been exposed anyway by now. Are any other birds sneezing? IB usually goes through a flock quickly. His noisy breathing sounds a little worse than IB, but MG can look similar. Make sure he starts drinking well, since sick birds can get dehydrated fast. You may want to add some water to a little bowl of chicken feed to make it runny. a tsp of plain yogurt can be stirred in for probiotics. They tend to like wet feed, but don't leave it out for more than a day. Here is a good link to read about illnesses and symptoms including the respiratory ones such as IB, MG, coryza, and ILT: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044
