Can you keep water available at all times? If you are worried about it getting spilled all over, there are many low-spill waterers available on Amazon for same or next day delivery just about anywhere in US & much of Canada. Some may require a little bit of diy, but many are ready to go right out of the box... just depends on what you want to spend.

You can try adding Gatorade to the water and see if that entices him to drink more.

You can be general, like me (just AZ) or relatively specific (North end of Bainbridge Island, WA). Of course, saying only “USA” or “Canada” is a little too general to be helpful, since there can be a pretty wide variation in climate across a large country...

I actually borrowed/copied the tutorial for adding a location from @aart (I think?)... I subbed in my own profile page for the example, but it was really his idea.
