My chicken is making a weird sound....

Down to just 2 house kitties. Baby is a big brown tabby and Boobear is the one in my avatar pic.
My other critters are 14 blue wyandottes, 5 silkies, 8 mutt chicks, and I just placed an order yesterday with a breeder for SQ wyandotte chicks. Just waiting for him to get back to me to confirm delivery.

Yes, she's growling at you. My hens always do some sort of screetch or growl if I interrupt like that (no peeking and myob and all that

Nellie is telling you to get lost you are disrupting her she might do this when other hens are nere her to be sure no one picks on her!

I have a hen that makes that noise when she is broody and I feed her. lol

It sounds like she's saying 'Whyyyyy?!' I call it the 'raccoon noise'.

She wasn't sitting on the egg, but if I show it to her after she lays it, she'll pull it out of my hand and roll it back into place. She was pecking at me the other day, too when she was nesting. But the day she did that, she didn't peck me at all.

Mine do that a lot, and I think it means they're content. I also love to here them purr!

The one in the video, Nellie, isn't broody...yet. She doesn't mind me petting her in her nesting box. Neither does Rosy, who is now broody. She rolled the egg under her, and sat on it, making those noises if I went near her, but she doesn't peck.
