i had a crippled hen (rosie) she was my dearest darling baby. followed (stumbled) me around, answered to her name, and sat on the windowsill and watched us. she died this past June due to a coon plucking her right off her nest of incubating eggs. we also had another chicken who died this past Thursday. he had been injured and healed with a crippled leg. we called him HopAlong. he got around well but when he died we suspected lack of proper feeding and watering. we made sure food and water was available but he just never seemed interested.
