Many chickens seem to prefer wet or fermented feed over dry, so that's normal.
x2, I find this to be the easiest way to manage it. I put out fermented feed in the morning and then have dry feed available from morning to night, so they can eat whatever they prefer. The ferment always gets eaten first, but since dry feed is also available I don't have to worry about bringing out additional fermented feed to meet their needs through the rest of the day.
I usually use ceramic or glass bowls for my wet/fermented feed, as they clean up pretty well, are food safe, and can even be tossed in the dishwasher if I want them squeaky clean.
I would have a feeder with dry feed out there all the time, and offer wet feed if you want, as an extra.

Bowls are good for wet feed. Disposable bowls are even nicer. I like to re-use containers that (human) food comes in. I rinse them out and re-use them repeatedly, but at some point it's so messy I throw it away instead of scrubbing it.
