My Chicken sounded just like a goose!

My 6 girls just turned 5 months. The all honk like a goose! Its quite hilarious!

I've got two geese in my flock right now - EE and Wellie. All of them are at the stage where they are losing/lost their chick peep voices, though the BA and Dom still peep/whistle quite a bit yet. The BR is the only one that sounds like an adult chicken and actually squawks and boks like a "normally" bird. It's actually quite comical just to listen to them all.

I don't know if it was "honking" I heard when my Golden Comets first began to lay-but I heard this terrible sound while I was inside the house-and my first thought was that my cat was choking on something. I ran all over the house frantically looking for my cat. I called to my son to help-I said, "I think Bob's choking!". We found Bob sleeping peacefully. Turns out it was my two Buff Orpingtons making a racket-and they weren't even the ones that had laid an egg.

My Pekin X Silkie honks. It is extremely annoying!

I have 2 Red Stars, 2 Barred Rocks and 2 Cuckoo Marans. One of my Marans honks ALL the time. She is 5 1/2 months old and has been HONKING since she was 9 weeks old. I laugh each time she does it. Of course I honk right back!

One of my black stars has a call that sounds like a cross between a goose and a donkey. Truly, she brays/honks. Pretty funny.
