Gees, I'm going looking for strings first thing tomorrow. Don't want my chickens beating me to them. Never thought about it before.

Okay my chicken swallowed a long string and half was still sticking out of his mouth but when i tried pulling it would not come out i mean it is in there so i just cut it. is this the right thing to do? please help. thanks
my quail chick also swallowed a pice of string and I also cut it. On day 1 it was fine, day 2 it was getting more and more passive and sitting in the corner. The stool was watery. In the evening it started to eat some termites. Day 3 it was the same and started to eat again in the evening. It also passed on load of normal stool. Today, day 4 it did not eat for the whole day. I tried to give it some water with dropper. As it had not eaten for days and it is only 2 weeks old, I dried to give some water with sugar. No change. I wonder if it will be still alive tomorrow. If it is alive I might try to give some olive oil. By the way, it has lost wait and the goiter looks swollen.
@BrittChick15 do not blame yourself. Chickens eat the dumbest things because they don't know what to eat. My chick ate a small piece of old duct tape, and for that I blame my step-dad because he's a litterbug.
