Eggs and meat from your flock should be fine. Just keep an eye out for things like mites and lice that the pigeons could have brought it. They can't get you, but will get your birds.

I have a hard time believing the chickens would have killed the pigeon.
More likely is that it simply died while in the coop

On another thread someone saw their chickens catch and kill a small bird that got trapped in the run. It's entirely possible.​

I totally believe it, I was sitting out in the yard the other day watching them run around and all of a sudden I heard this god-awful noise. I jumped out of my chair, spun around and watched in horror as my 5, 5 month olds attacked a small blackish bird with a blue green sheen. I totally freaked out! I was sooo not expecting that, the poor thing had a broken leg and before I could get closer to inspect it, it flew off. So yeah, a pigeon had definitely better watch out around that 5! lol

No doubt. My chooks hunt crows. They haven't caught one yet, but they keep trying. I've watched them hunt a crow. It looks very much like the scene from Jurassic Park when the velociraptors are hunting people.

Well, they are fine eating meat; in fact, they love it. Heck, if I fell and knocked myself out in their pen, I may wake up to find myself half gone!

Seriously, I'd only be worried about lice, mites and/or disease with that pigeon episode.

My pigeons and chickens pretty much ignore each other

I can understand a chicken killing a pheasant if they were fighting, but I've never seen my chickens even acknowledge the pigeons.

There is a pigeon that basically lives in my backyard now and goes into the pen whenever the girls are out... He's lucky I keep rescuing him.. one day I wont be there... He's gonna get himself eaten pretty soon!!

I've seen my chickens attack frogs (gross) & small birds, so I'm not surprised that yours took out a pigeon.
