My chicken's broody, so I just gave in... (**Both Ducklings Are Out**)

Still nothing...

I checked right before bed last night, my husband was out checking at 8am, and I checked again around 10 while I was cleaning the coop and getting them fresh water.

I'm going to bring them fresh hay for the nesting boxes in a few so I have an excuse to check again!

Its been cold at night here for several days now, so maybe they are just being slow because of that. I'm trying to be patient... but how long should I really wait?

I'd be crushed if nothing came of this... but hopefully I learned something.
 
sigh. I had a bad experience with hatching eggs in my bator. Waited until like day 27, nothing.

Then I decided to crack it open, and a dead chick was there, half formed and it smelled bad. I was lucky it didn't explode before then!

Well, we're only on day 29, and nothing yet. The ducks could have been between the 28th and 30 and that'd be normal I know... I may go as long as the 32nd day before I give up!

Oh this was long long ago now... we've already lost 2 eggs since this. We're down to 2 eggs today... I did hear very quiet quacking in the eggs yesterday. So til then they were still alive in there.

Ok, I just went out and checked again because I couldn't help myself. We held the eggs (to get both under one broody instead of 2 of the 3) and they are both moving, and you can feel them kick from inside!

But I'll keep updates. For now I'm going to entertain myself with other things so I stop thinking about it.
