They were both out from under mama this morning so I got to hold both of them. They look so good, and inquisitive. The younger of the too tried to run right up my jacket sleeve... I think she was cold.
So I put them back under mama. They came running right back out to watch me. I don't think they are scared of me one bit... I was standing right there when #2 got out of the shell. Maybe they think I'm a mama too!
Hahahaha
I need to go take more pictures today so you can see #2... she's a bit smaller then #1... but just as active.
ok got pictures now with the 'mamas' since my black and white are sharing them right now. Though they prefer the black silkie. Pretty much making Fillet the mommy... and poor Muppet who sat on them the longest is being rejected but wants to take care of them.
...and my other black broody, Peck, sits in the other nesting box just watching, sitting on nothing
Ok, everyone has been moved to a brooder in the house as of now. The chickens are in the coop looking for the babies I'm afraid
All the water froze last night, and the ducklings got into the run but couldn't get back into the coop up the ladder with the mamas. I couldn't possibly be there to move them up and down and back and forth all the time.
I hope the mamas will be ok with the ducklings gone. The ducks are all curled up asleep in the brooder under the light with one of my daughter's stuffed animals. They seem just fine.

They'll get over it. It might take them a while, but eventually they will move on! I had a hen that I took 7-week-old chicks from. It took her forever to snap out of it!
