My chickens quit laying eggs for about the last 6 weeks.

Hi all,

My hens have all but stopped laying eggs. I used to get about 25-35 eggs per day, now only 4-5.

This has been going on for about 6 weeks. I thought if they were molting it only lasted about 2 weeks.

I've had these chickens for from 3 to 5 years. I don't have lice on them, they are well fed with high protein feed and fresh water every day.

I deworm them with Ivomec twice a year.

What else could be causing them to stop laying.

If it is any consolation mine have been moulting for far longer than a few weeks taking into account that the days are not as long as they were a few weeks ago and I do not use lighting after dark in their coop plus the fact as they get older they do not lay nearly as much as when they were younger..... I get very few eggs and I will be worming them any day now, so I will have to buy eggs for a month...... I hate the thought of not having my own fresh eggs.
