It is a chance anyone takes when using the PO. I don't mean to say that to be mean, but let's face it things happen in transit and even letters are lost and other packages besides chicks. Can only hope the PO's that have these chicks help them along. If you are ordering chicks it is best to order from the hatchery closest to you so that they do not have to travel so far. And if you do order from a hatchery further for a breed or special you want, then be prepared for it to take longer. Those of us in TX that ordered from Ideal did get our shipments sent out Wednesday. I pray that the people still waiting hear some good news soon. I am sure Ideal will reship the order under the circumstances.
I don't know that I agree with this. I ordered from a hatchery that was six hours from me and it took 3 1/2 days, would have been 4, but I drove to the distribution center in the city to pick them up so they wouldn't spend another night in that box. When I asked why it took so long, they explained that live shipments can only go on "certain" trucks and they were trucked the whole way. Yet when I ordered from Ideal, TX to MI, I got them the next day! Yep, they were put on a plane, then eivdently caught they first truck out of Detroit and arrived the next afternoon! Will that always happen? Don't know, but I have ordered from several hatcheries and the longest time was the closest one, go figure!
