My chicks are MIA:box found:all doa -Update: new order shipping Monday

With this bad weather all over, I bet it's delaying a lot of packages.

Hopefully someone will open up the boxes and at least water them, if nothing else. I know I would if they came to our P.O and couldn't get where they needed to be in time.

It is a chance anyone takes when using the PO. I don't mean to say that to be mean, but let's face it things happen in transit and even letters are lost and other packages besides chicks. Can only hope the PO's that have these chicks help them along. If you are ordering chicks it is best to order from the hatchery closest to you so that they do not have to travel so far. And if you do order from a hatchery further for a breed or special you want, then be prepared for it to take longer. Those of us in TX that ordered from Ideal did get our shipments sent out Wednesday. I pray that the people still waiting hear some good news soon. I am sure Ideal will reship the order under the circumstances.

Even though the post office is not open the mail is still moving. Even if your office gets your birds at night on sunday they will call you to pick them up. I have gotten calls at 9 at night before and also 6 in the morning

I have almost gotten my orders from Ideal within 1 day (priority, not express) and that's TX to NC, BUT that's without this kind of weather that so many of us are getting. Your state may not have it, but states in between might.

I really hope there was just a mix up and they didn't ship as well.

I'm sending positive thoughts!~ I ordered duckling one time and they shipped out and on a rainy Saturday night at 11pm, the doorbell rang. It was two ladies from the holding warehouse with my ducklings. They drove 1.5 hours to my house to bring them to me in a rainstorm. Let's hope someone does something similar for you:cool:

I don't know that I agree with this. I ordered from a hatchery that was six hours from me and it took 3 1/2 days, would have been 4, but I drove to the distribution center in the city to pick them up so they wouldn't spend another night in that box. When I asked why it took so long, they explained that live shipments can only go on "certain" trucks and they were trucked the whole way. Yet when I ordered from Ideal, TX to MI, I got them the next day! Yep, they were put on a plane, then eivdently caught they first truck out of Detroit and arrived the next afternoon! Will that always happen? Don't know, but I have ordered from several hatcheries and the longest time was the closest one, go figure!

I have had a order from a top hatchery (who isn't my first choice, BTW) get delayed from being shipped out and it scared me too... so I called and they acted like I was the 'tard for not knowing they weren't shipping for two more weeks. No email or call or anything. It wasn't Ideal, but it was one that advertises on here... if you really want to know PM me. I'm not going to put it out there.

I will say that mypetchicken has always been the best as far as bird quality and customer service. I just asked them a question the other day, out of the blue and they were happy to answer me. I didn't even have a order in... they are just that nice.

I don't mean to make you guys lose hope, but I had the same problem with a Wednesday shipment from Ideal. I ordered 15 sicilian buttercups, and they did not arrive until this morning (Saturday). Every one of them was dead on arrival. I had one very disappointed grandmother and little cousin, not to mention how disappointed I was. Everyone was so looking forward to the new babies, and it was so heartbreaking. I hope that your experience turns out differently, though! Sending good vibes your way!
