My chicks poo is yolk like..

my chick was born on Friday so he’s 3 days old and his pop looks like this .. and it looks like yolk is he ok? Also
WHEN DO I CHANGE THE BEDDING?

Just a watery poo, not to worry. They go on and off like that, occasionally more yellowish water with a bit of food, but usually the normal black and white harder stuff.

As for changing bedding, once a week for the first 2 weeks then up it to twice a week. Just look and smell. If it looks like a whole lotta poop, change it, if it smells bad, change it!

Every now and then a chicken will give a really smelly poop to clean their bowls. But with chicks this young that isn’t the case but it is of course normal. Baby chicks are still getting use to their feed and is nothing to worry about. As for the litter, I add 6-8 inches of bedding and then don’t have to clean it out until they go outside because this keeps the smell down as it absorbs the poop so the chicks always have dry bedding.

You can of course change the bedding whenever it looks to dirty. The only thing you have to worry about in chicks this young is pasty butts.

Not just pasty butt! Coccidiosis, wry tail, Mareks, Splayed leg, dehydration, not being able to find the food, etc. Not as common as Pasting up, but best to be prepared!!!

Also, they will have these poops for the first week or so... my one chick had that exact poop on my friends hoodie, and on my pants! Totally normal, just getting used to digesting their food!

Your Chick is fine and clean as often as is needed.
Keep the Brooder dry and have a cool area and a warm area..I use a brick for feed and water so they don't kick bedding into it..
