My child has ACNE!!!!!!!!!

It is just a part of growing up...
I have it, but not bad at all.
I went to a dermatologist and he put me on meds, and it cleared up pretty well.
By the way, I am on NO acutane meds also.
(the dermatologist said it affects the liver)

Scrambled egg white and a talbespoon of peroxide or lemon juice, mix well and apply to the face with cotton balls. Let dry about 15 minutes, do this twice daily and it should improve.

Well, right now his is quite minor....I am not sure anyone has even noticed it at school. At least they sure haven't said anything to him. I already told him that if the OTC stuff didn't work we would see a dermatologist IMMEDIATELY. He is my most shy and sensitive child....my very least outgoing. Very quiet...a sweet little bookworm with glasses. He has a few close friends and tends to stay in his tiny group. I don't think he would deal well with being picked on so I try to avoid anything that might cause that.

My daughter is only 9 and already has some acne on her chin and forehead. I know she showers every night and washes her face. I bought some medicated Stridex pads that she cleans her face with after washing it and they seem to help. There are several brands that are basically the same. They take even more dirt and oil off her face, even after she has washed it with soap. The only down side is that they can dry the skin if used too much. I told her to use one every other day and that seems to work for now.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

It seems to have happened rather quickly. I think he was in diapers yesterday!!!!

Oh, and as for diet, he eats VERY healthy. We are fresh food fanatics. I mean, yeah, we do tend to do some not so great stuff now and then, but most of the time we are good.

My mother grew up w/terrible acne & ended up with scars. It really affected her self-esteem growing up & even now she is self-conscience about it. She sent both me and my brother to a dermatologist at an early age to prevent us from having to go thru the embarassment she did. I highly recommend finding a good dermatologist for your son. Me and my brother are very greatful our mom did for us

Sometimes it is hard to balance their three extremely different personalities. LOL

Oh, one other thing that just screams "this is hormonal", he has had to start wearing deodorant. At the end of a hot day, instead of that sweaty little kid smell, he would have BO.

I suffered with acne until my dermatologist just gave up and my mom talked to a friend who is Korean, and she gave my mom the recipe I posted, I no longer have acne except fot the random ones here and there. I have used it for 25 years now and I highly recommend it!
